Today, I was sent to a customer's house to switch out a washing machine. My boss had assured me that everything I'd need was already in the truck. Halfway there, I ran out of gas and I realized I didn't have the gas card. My boss says it's my fault. FML

The fault lies on the both of you..for one dont you check the gas gauge before you go anywhere...and secondly your boss is a douche

YDI, especially since it sounds like youre a repair technician, so you should've know that "everything" was in direct relation to the job at hand, in this case the changing of the washer. The gas card is something else entirely, as in most cases, need to be picked up from 'HQ' in the mornings and dropped off in the evenings.

I agree with your boss. Checking the gas gauge is a pretty basic thing. Driver's responsibility, not the person whose name is on the title.

Goes to show never trust anybody and always check things for your self

you don't even have to check it! In a car the fuel gauge is RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! Get your head out of your ass or give your job to someone how can move their slightly out of the windshield to the gauges to see you need gas. STUPID

It's your fault for not checking. But don't worry about it next everything will be there, I promise ;)

Why didn't you check the fuel gauge?
