As much as I feel sorry for you because its your birthday, but a) you don't need to drink b) you can always say no, nobody can make you be designated, because you obviously just caved c) there isn't anything significant about drinking on your birthday, so basically your friends are doing you a favour. If you have a set time of when to drive yourself and everyone home, go for a walk, or if there's enough time, go for a nice meal, despite the fact that you'll be by yourself, but at least you'd have a red collection of what you did that night and no migraine.
