Today, I was walking my husky when she saw a cat and bolted toward it. I couldn't let go of the leash because my hand was tangled up. Forced to run along, I ran into a parked van at full sprint. I lost my dog, broke two ribs and have to pay for the dent in the van. FML

My black lab weighs 95 pounds and I can hold him from chasing after anything. Either get some muscles, train your dog, or just use a choke collar or harness when you walk him so he doesn't pull as hard. I hope you find him and he's okay. =)

Exactly, get a choke-chain and pull hard. It'll stop any dogs in their tracks. I remember restraining my dogs with a couple quick-hard jerks when I was little.

Try training your dog next time. Seriously. People who can't control their dogs shouldn't take them out in public. Or at least stick to little ones that can't do any damage. I'm just glad it was you who your dog hurt and not some random kid.

how would hyou lose your dog if it was tangled around your hand? And how would you run into a van unless you seriously can't turn or he ran into the van too?

k for the people railing this guy for letting go of the leash...a husky was built for pulling shit. lets sayyy a person, sled and supplies? if a husky wants to go somewhere he will. there is not stopping it. sorry dude. that sucks. i hope you feel better soon and find your dog.

Learn to control your dog either physically or if you're just not that big, verbally. If you can't control your dog, you should NOT own it. This comes from someone who has been bitten 7 times, because owners can't control their dogs.

Dang you probably wont see that dog again...it's not the type of breed that usually comes back when it is free to run. It sucks for you getting injured though and having to pay for the car......

Okay, people need to get educated. This is just getting ridiculous. I'm not one to argue over the internet (especially in the comments section), but people have no clue what they're saying! As I said before, if the OP is a girl, I feel bad for her, although she shouldn't be walking an untrained husky. Although if the OP is a dude, he needs to get stronger. People, stop acting like huskies are the strongest breed or something. Newfoundlands are definitely bigger and stronger. My cousins have one, they can handle it fairly well and aren't muscular by any means, really. For all you people saying "huskies were bred to pull stuff." Okay, have you ever seen a husky pull an Eskimo and his stuff BY ITSELF? No, they always have help from many other huskies in the pack. Also, what about the fact that the OP's dog DOESN'T pull stuff? Just because a dog was bred for something doesn't mean they'll be like the ones who were trained for specific tasks. If a human does not exercise, he/she does not get strong. If a husky does not pull Eskimos, it does not get strong enough to drag a man and break his ribs. I'm not saying the FML is fake, I'm just saying that if the OP is a girl, she needs a different dog. If it's a guy, he needs to hit up the gym. Also, watch The Dog Whisperer on National Geographic, as I said before. Sorry about your injury, OP. I don't like being harsh.

This is one of the worst stories I've read on the site. I mean as in horrible for you. I know a lot of people say a lot of FMLs aren't really FML worthy, but no one could ever say this one isn't.
