Today, I was with my family at a buffet getting dessert. As I had my chocolate cake in hand, I grabbed an extra slice of cheesecake for my mom because I knew she would like a slice. Upon returning to my table, a couple walking behind me commented, "See, that's why Americans are so obese." FML

Today, I scolded my son at a buffet after he pointed at an obese woman in a motorized wheelchair and asked how anyone could let themselves get so unhealthy. As I lectured him on genetics and thyroid problems, she rolled past with a plate stacked with an obscene amount of fried food. FML

Today, after taking vacation time to visit her, my mom told me she was glad I was leaving so she could get back to her diet. I'm prediabetic and have been trying to manage the condition. She ordered dessert at every meal and was the only one in the family who did. FML

Today, my dad insisted on taking us to a local buffet that is known for bad food and botulism. He kept piling things onto a plate for me, despite my objections. A waitress commented on how much was on my plate. I told her I wasn't hungry, and it was my dad's doing. Her response, "Your skinny self needs to eat." FML

I'm with #23 on this one. And, #8, I think this has more to do with arrogance, kyoto, Irak, and all the things that american people don't have a thing to do with, but well, it's all that we can see from the outside. And, I know, my english suxx. XD And, well, I have to admit that when I read the comments on FML, I read them with the idea that they're written by 12-42 years old persons, mostly from the US, and so they must represent the opinion of the majority of them. And, I (and I'm not the only one) found most of them.. well, to be politically correct, I found a lot of them old-fashioned.

well america is the fastest country in the world, its a fact, and it can be shocking to people who don't live there and see it everyday. i was shocked the first time i went to a kmart and saw hoards of people on little skooters meant for old people or disabled people just because they were too fat and too lazy to walk around and shop. if in fact you are a healthy conscientious person and happened to have eaten a reasonable meal and left some room to enjoy dessert, then i guess it was an unfair and rude statement. however if you just took advantage of an ALL YOU CAN EAT CHINESE BUFFET, went for dessert and ARE OBESE then i would say you deserve it.
