Time to show up, to work, looking like Mimi, off of Drew Carey... Here I thought, we were rated on our job by: Quality-knowledge-professionalism
That's not legal. Makeup isn't required for a job, you can't be written up just because you didn't wear makeup. Now, hygiene is s different story, if you weren't showering or anything either, then you can be written up, but not for just not wearing makeup or styling your hair
They're just jealous because your beauty is blinding and they don't want glasses or want to pay expensive eye medical attention. Beauty is in the eye if beholder
You weren't written up for being ugly. You were written up for looking like a slob. You are the face of the company. I'm sure you are beautiful.
Ugh been there. I was never written up for it, but it was included negatively in my perfomance reviews. For a customer service position where I only interacted with customers via phone and email and I have medically documented allergies where any form of eye makeup could trigger a reaction resulting in permanent vision loss. And even sadder in the US that's still technically legal. The courts have been unwilling as yet to agree with a plaintiff that it's gender descrimination . Personally I eventually found a job that stated explicitly in the interview that makeup would not be required. FYL but **** your job too. Find a place that respects you for your work.
I really, really wish the punchline was "I'm a guy".
Wow. What shallow bitches. I can't imagine trying to get someone in trouble at work for not wearing make-up. Assholes.
The really sucks but if it was bad enough that multiple people noted your boss about it I'd say YDI. I never wear makeup or do fancy styles for my hair (just braided it or put it up in a clip) but I make sure to still look clean and presentable. Even if you're just an entry level employee it's important to put your best face forward as it makes the company look better. If the employees look like slobs it makes some people feel the company is sloppy as well
maybe it's not because you're ugly, you probably just need to maintain yourself better. have some pride in your presentation.

Are they stupid? There's no way that's legal.
Where on earth do you work? I mean, I could understand maybe if you don't wash or brush your hair and it's a hygiene issue, but I can't think of any place where makeup would be mandatory or a thing people would complain about.
