Today, I went into a music store to look into getting a new guitar. I picked up one that I was interested in and tried it out quietly. A sales representative approached me and asked me to "stop the noise and leave the guitars for serious customers." I've been playing for almost ten years. FML

Maybe he thought that all you were gonna do was just play with them and not actually buy anything? Haha always gotta think on the bright side.

Tell him you're the new august rush! It works for me all the time =]

The guy probably didn't even listen to good music. If he thought that wht you played was noise, then he knows nothing. But if you really do suck after ten years, you need a new teacher

all music store clerks are the same. sorry op :(

I know what you're getting at here, but does a shitty player or someone with shitty taste not deserve to buy a guitar too?

if you have been playing ten years should have showed him how it was done

wow anonymous ur such a joke! u lie in ur FMLs all the time about everythin cause theyre posted A LOT and u can tell u lie!! wow guess if ur gonna lie...do it on the internet

what a stupid sales rep, even new players have to buy their first guitar somewhere! twanging to yourself quietly doesn't sound quite as pro as when you're backed up by a band, don't stress too much. but you could tell all your musician friends to avoid that store

Fyl , if it helps, I can't even hold a guitar ?(;

anybody who's buying a guitar should always play some scales and chords on any guitar they're interested in to see how it feels. It doesn't matter how experienced they are, that employee deserves to be fired.

Wow, that sucks. Kudos to you for being able to play it, but still. You should have called the rep out on it and then refused to buy anything, saying they'll never get your business. Stupid idiot, what right do they have saying that? I guess they don't want the store to bring in any money.
