Today, I went to my orthodontist where I was informed that I'll going to the prom, to my brother's wedding, and maybe to university with braces in my mouth. FML

Having braces doesnt suck.. its normal. But what is GOING to suck is actually wearing them. It HURTS like hell .. your lips get BROKEN inside the mouth. The pain lasts for a week. And then every time u meet orthodontist (every month) its going to hurt AGAIN .. for some days. .. I have braces :D

that's embarrassing, to get them when your older? I got mine in 5th grade and got them off right before ninth for this reason.

It's not really that bad. Braces aren't the end of the world. Plus, some people look cute in them!

i'm 17 at the end of next month and I have braces, and no one gives a shit if anyone up to 20 has braces...any older it's unusual, but not 'oh shit...'. who said bands hurt? they're just a bit tight now and then, nothing bad. sounds like OP either needs to grow up or have less-than-perfect teeth.
