Today, I went to my son's soccer game. I cheered his name at the top my lungs and waved with a grin on my face. I saw him whisper something to a team mate so I watched the film my husband took later that night. His friend asked, "Who is that?" and my son replied, "I don't know some fat bitch." FML

OUCH!! That boy needs to be more respectful

Depending on his age, that kind of comment is to be expected. Yes, the insult was going too far, but pretending not to know you wasn't. If he is between the age of 11 and 16, then he is in a stage where he is trying to please his peers more than he is trying to please authority figures. It is why a teacher should never praise a middle school/freshman student publicly, that's not something that is going to help them socially. Your son might very much appreciate that you show up to his games, and praise him privately after the game, but he does not want a public display of any kind. His friends see you doing that and they make fun of him, and in order to brush it off so he doesn't get the blame, he has to over emphasis that he doesn't know you, or like the attention. It's why children make fun of each other. To the people who said "I grew up to respect my elders", yeah well, this isn't "when you grew up" anymore. Social norms change all the time. Also, if a child is beaten they are much more likely to beat their own children, child abuse is NOT okay.

Damn seriously you needa teach him some manners and respect and don't even waste your time thinkin about there's ganna be a next time !

i would show the tape to him and ground him for 5 months.

No matter what the mother did, he has no right to call her a fat bitch. Even if it were a stranger. He probably talks like that all the time, and one day he will get his ass beat (not by his mother)

This is fake. If she was unable to hear the comment he made, then the camera being wielded by her husband, who was presumably next to her, would not have picked up the words either. Plus, even if the father was taping from a closer area, the OP said he "whispered" it to his friend. You would never be able to hear a whisper, even if you were within 10 feet of the kid, because there's a lot of ambient noise at soccer games. Fake.

Eh. You embarrass your son? He better get used to it. Sorry he's a dick now..not much will change.

Today, I had a soccer game. My mom came and was screaming and cheering for me really loudly in the stands. My friend asked me who it was and, being a bit embarrassed, I answered "I don't know, some fat bitch." Well it turns out my dad was taping the whole thing and my mom watched the whole thing. FML

Oh my gosh, regardless if she embarrassed him it's still not okay to say that about your mother! Jeez, parents embarrass their children all the time.
