Today, I went to take my driver's test, and I did almost everything perfectly. The last thing was to back into a driveway. As I went to put my hand on the passenger seat to look over my shoulder, I got so nervous that I hit my instructor in the face. FML

I'm sure he couldn't hold it against you! After all, beating your passengers doesn't make you a bad driver...

How hard did you hit him/her? If it was just a bump then im sure they would not mind. Make sure you say your sorry though. It you hit him/her hard the worst thing to do would be to just sit there and not mention it. Did you pass?

Yea, she didn't hit him in the balls..I hear that hurts more

I didn't have to do that on my drivers' test and I took it 5 days ago... Sorry OP. IDK how it is where you are, but here if you fail your test you can retake it in 2 weeks. Good luck :)

*Smells breath, checks hair* Well, hello there.. Foxy Turtle ;) How about you come over to my shell and I'll show you my.. uhh.. Fish tank?

Did you tell him to call you Big Poppa?

Why do you need to place your hand on the passenger seat to reverse?!

That's how you back up. It is so you can see behind you.

I see with my eyes in my turned head, not with my hand on the passenger seat.

Driving instructor told me to keep both hands on the wheel and just turn my shoulders to look behind me.

My dad holds the back on the passenger's seat to hold his body turned around and properly look back. Some people just find it easier to do that. Others can keep their hands on the wheel and reverse just fine without doing that.

That's what your mirrors are for

jim_bolicious 4

That's pretty stupid too, when you turn your shoulders there's potential to jerk the wheel. USE YOUR MIRRORS, it's not that hard to judge the distance with your mirrors

jim_bolicious: First of all, "objects in the mirror are closer than they appear". Some people aren't experts at gauging their distances in their mirrors, so they prefer to look over their shoulder as a better focal point. Secondly, it's called a PREFERENCE. It does not make someone stupid for using it. I could easily call you a lazy dumbass for using your mirrors when you could just as easily use your eyes. But I'm not, because that's what you PREFER to do. Asshole.

Where I'm from you're required to do that..

Objects are only closer than they appear in the passenger side mirror. I do use my eyes very easily. A lot easier than twisting my back and neck to see something that I can normally see by tilting my head a degree or 2 and moving my eyes up a little bit. What has annoyed me the most is people claiming there's a blind spot directly behind them. The blind spots are beside you not behind you. I'm not lazy I just know how to drive/back up quickly/efficiently/easily

I completely support you on this one man lol

As long as you did everything right I guess you can still pass

Don't feel bad OP. Everyone is nervous when they take their driving test. If you failed, you can always try again.

Don't worry about it op, sometimes everybody needs a reality check.

Did you back into the driveway correctly?
