That's not necessarily a bad thing, I Have tried Escargot and Frogs Legs, They are not Good. Horse is ok but not anything to be excited about.
I'm french, and I've never eaten snails, or frogs legs, and only once horse (because I didn't know it was horse). You seem to have a really clichéed view on french food. Snails and Foie Gras are usually only served at Christmas or for big parties (foie gras is delicious tho...). It's not everyday food. Try some cheese fondue, filet mignon, crepes, duck filet etc
Yeah, frog legs and snails are the big stereotypes of French food but there are more foreigners eating them in France than French people doing so because they think it's THE French food to try. What I always say to my foreigner friends is: don't bother with snails or frog legs, it's a tourist trap. Restaurant owners know that almost no French people would just eat them randomly during the year, and they make the price a little more expensive at some places. Besides, snails are nothing exceptional. It's the sauce that tastes great. There are so many other good food to try. I'm French and I had snails and frogs just once in my life to try.
More like his wallet can't trust them.
That's really unfortunate. When we go on vacation we do eat fast food occasionally, but we try to go to restaurants we don't have here at home. Next time try to find suggestions online before your trip, maybe it'll give your Dad peace of mind if he hears recommendations from others
Why is your dad visiting France if "you can't trust them" ??? I'm assuming you're American, although it doesn't say which country you're coming from. Sigh... And we think the French are rude. Traveling thousands of miles to eat at McDs and not even trying the food is worse than rude.
venture out on your own a bit.
Why go if you don't eat the food? I'd venture out on my own.
So what happened with the 1/10 out of McDonalds? If that was a basic restaurant and no harm done then it shows it can be trusted
I'm French and our food is correct. We have really good things!! Sorry for you!

I'm so sorry OP. What's stopping you from going out on your own?
McDonalds will kill you eating it like that.
