Today, it was the last day of school, and I said goodbye to one of my students. She then told me how to correctly pronounce her name. I'd said it wrong all year. FML

She was probably thinking, "you can call me anything you want, sexy ;)" I had a professor who, even if he called me something so far off, like Shequanaenae, I would still reply. To this day, I still remember his handsome face. *Le sigh* his wife is so lucky.

Either she was too shy/polite to correct OP, or she did it on purpose. I hope it's the first reason, but from my experience, thinking that way would make me naive.

I've done this. I did it because its hard for people to pronounce my name so I don't correct them. the only reason I tell them the correct pronunciation is when they ask me why I didn't hear them calling me.

It's still bad to correct them on the last day. Either do it earlier and fix it, or dont do it at all...Doing it on the last day does nothing other than making feel OP feel bad

Not your fault. You have no reason to feel embarrassed. She should have told you the first time you said it wrong? I know that when I was in school and someone said my name wrong I would be quick to correct them because I would be the one embarrassed getting called the wrong name all year long.

One Ohmy teachers kept pernouncing my name wrong last year. I kept correcting her but she only herd me at the end of the year. Maybe it's girl has been correcting you the whole time.
