If my boss thought that being a woman made me somehow stupider than him, or if someone I did business with thought that, I'd have a real problem with that. The way people talk in the workplace (especially to their subordinates) tells you a lot about the kind of person they are. This guy is an asshole.

All I see is a bunch of people freaking out over something that isn't all that serious; so the butthurt comment was for most of the people commenting here. The boss sounds like an ass no doubt but talking back to someone that can fire you is the definition of stupidity. In this case the better choice would have been to keep quite and do her job. And in your example case your action would most likely lead you to being on your bosses shit list and being messed with until you quit or are fired. In some cases its better to just suck it up then go tell on someone like a child especially when the complaint like in OPs example is not a big deal.
