Today, my boyfriend of a couple of weeks mixed up my name with his ex-wife's name. After he said it, he looked at me and said, "You knew it was going to happen." FML

It was bound to happen. It's only a couple of weeks. Unless he still has feelings for her I wouldn't worry about it.

Well of course it was going to happen - he was married to her. So he's used to saying that name when he's talking to his significant other - it's habit. And you've only been together a few weeks. If he's constantly saying it or still doing it a couple months down the road, or during sex, then you can worry about it a little. And even if it was during sex - once is a silly mistake - if it keeps happening, then give it a little thought.

If it makes you feel any better, I spent the day with my cousin the other day and the whole day I called her by bf's name.... Yes :D? No didn't think so was awkward!! -_-

First of all he's been with you for a couple of weeks, how long was he with her? and how close are your names? is it like Julie and Judy? I need more facts before I judge this FML

Sometimes, when my boyfriend really frustrates me, I call him by my ex's name without thinking. Luckily, they have the same name. Probably for the better - he's frustrating so rarely my brain can't process that it's really him.

I confuse names in my head all of the time.. it's not cuz he's still attached to her, he's just used to saying that name, and accidentally called you by it. Don't worry OP, it was just a minor accident.

i often do the same. i strugle with names and occasionaly call my gf by the wrong name but she knows its a slip of the tounge and we both laugh at me for being an idiot.
