Today, my boyfriend proposed. Two hours later I get a text from my ex announcing he has just been diagnosed with chlamydia. I now have to explain this to my fiancé. FML

1) He's your ex 2) He has an STD 3) He could have given it to you while you were together It seems pretty damned easy to explain unless I'm missing a step... 4) You're still sleeping with him

Good luck trying to explain that one....

Get tested first because you may not have it, but if you do just tell him. Don't be ashamed everyone makes mistakes. Good luck on your marriage.

Seriously how long have you been with this guy if your ex is calling telling you to get tested... Fast engagement maybe? I was with my husband 7 years before we got married what's the rush? Also your future husband should understand now more than ever why you left your ex and clearly he'll never have to worry about you going back to him. Plus it's not a big deal get a prescription and move on now herpes or HIV that's a FML!

I think that's the reason they said "future husband" genius. The more you know ????

I was responding specifically to "I was with my husband 7 years before we got married what's the rush?" They can be engaged for an extended period, there's nothing to say they're rushing into marriage. Pretty obvious.

can chlamdyia be cured with antibiotics

Yes, chlamydia is a bacterial infection so it's curable with antibiotics.

I hope the angle to this question was not to secretly sneak op's fiancé meds

After reading Doc's comment I feel like someone needs to read the side affects/fine print in a soft or fast voice as in the ads lol.

It's not cureable... It's treatable!

Idk but you have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen:)

YDI if you really couldn't wait long enough to avoid such a situation. Now, if you're a true playa, you'll wait for your fiancé to be symptomatic & then... blame it on him! Women with chlamydia are frequently asymptomatic, so you've likely gifted him already. GLWT & y'all live happily evah aftah, now..!

Why not find out first if you have it?

We all have to have this talk sometime, OP. Right, guys? Anyone? Hello?
