Today, my boyfriend woke up wheezing terribly, aching, and sneezing. He's allergic to cats. I have 2 and they are my babies. He gave me an ultimatum, him or the cats. I haven't figured out how I'm going to tell him that I choose the cats. FML

Today, after being diagnosed with cat allergies, I explained to my cat-loving boyfriend that the doctor strongly recommended not allowing the cat in the bedroom. At 1:30 a.m. my boyfriend got out of the bed to go sleep in the spare room because, "the cat is sad." FML

Today, I told my mom I'm severely allergic to my cat and that the doctor told me it would be best to get rid of the cat. Somewhat jokingly, I told her it was either me or the cat. She chose the cat. She was serious too. FML

Today, to celebrate moving into a new apartment, my girlfriend decided she would get a kitten. She didn't know I'm allergic to cats. When I told her, she decided that she couldn't date someone who couldn't be around her cat; the one she doesn't have yet. FML

Not that simple unfortunately. I have a cat allergy too and it just lessens the symptoms. I take enough meds that I get dizzy from them and still have horrible allergy attacks around cats.

Allergy medicine isn't the only option. I'm extremely allergic to my boyfriend's roommate's dog. All I ask is that he wash his blankets to get all the dog dander off before I sleep over, and just not let the dog in the room while I'm there. It really isn't that bad after that. I also live with 3 cats that I am very allergic to, but a regularly vacuumed, cat-free room with a HEPA filter makes it better. I'm also allergic to my horse haha.... and every single thing growing outside.

I really should. I was never allergic to anything when I was little, these new allergies just keep appearing. I'm a total animal person, so it's really sad. I can't really keep myself away from animals, no matter how sick they make me :.(

146: My animal allergies lessened considerably when I started getting acupuncture. I'm allergic to pet dander in general, but I survived living for six months with 6 cats, 2 dogs and 2 ferrets without bursting into hives and ripping my own eyes out :D

If it’s the first time he woke up sneezing, I think they have not been together for a very long time. Not knowing where the relationship goes, I would have done the same thing

Chances are you and your BF aren't going to last and if you get rid of the cats and y'all break up then you're going to end up with nothing. I would take the cats too. And I'm scared of cats.
