Today, my dad attempted to fix a power outlet. He managed to shock himself with 120 volts and fall backwards, landing on top of me. I am 85 pounds and he weighs 290 pounds. FML

I think here there are 2 lines connecting to equal 240 volts so maybe that's why he only hit a 120. That would suck some serious ass for the dad man.

No, I'm pretty sure the second prong is to connect the circuit. Does it really matter that we use about half the voltage if everything we need to power works just fine? Edit: Agreed with the person about not turning off the power. How ******* dumb can you be to work on an electrical socket while the power is still on.
