Today, my girlfriend of 8 months and I broke up. We decided to give back everything we ever bought for each other. I gave her the stuff she bought me and when I asked for my stuff she said she'd sold it and spent the money on herself. FML

Who returns gifts? That's awful. Things you buy for each other are gifts, and shouldn't be returned when a relationship ends...

I agree with #23, why would you return *gifts*?? Hey man, YDI. You bought it for her, she can do what she likes with it. Not saying that's not a slack move, but she doesn't owe you anything for it. An engagement ring shouldn't be returned either, the idea is that If the relationship fails the Lady has compensation for the time she could have spent looking for a new mate, a bit old fashioned I agree, but I like tradition
