Today, my girlfriend of almost a year, and to whom I intended to propose on Thanksgiving, dumped me because her husband will be returning from Iraq soon. And he wants to have a "talk" with me. I didn't know she was married. FML

marriage proposal after less than a year? On your first date, did you also rub her belly and say, "Soon, this will be plump with my seed"?

I knew six guys who served in the first Iraq war in the early '90's. For all of them, thier wifes/girlfriends left them while they were serving in Iraq. Just another reason people do not want to serve in the military/go to war. Women "love a man in uniform" but when that uniform has to "serve and protrect or defend freedom", these women cheat and/or file for divorce. Military personell and police officers have some of the highest divorce rates.

Just b/c you knew 6 guys doesn't make us all of us military wives like that. I know you didn't say that, I just wanted to point that out. For those 6 guys you know, I know probably 100+ that are devoted faithful wives. Yes the divorce rate in the military is higher, but I pay no attention to that number, b/c I feel like those people who got divorced were married for all the wrong reasons to begin with(the uniform, the benefits, the money, etc...) And in my opinion, had they not married a service member they'd have been divorced anyway. Also I feel like those numbers are skewed b/c I know people who have gotten married specifically for the extra money and benefits(but they didn't actually live together or love each other, and they were actually both in other relationships, they were just married on paper so they could get the benefits) While this is fraud, I do know that people do it, then get divorced when they are actually ready to marry "the one", and that feeds into the divorce statistics as well.

Are you really that ignorant to believe that being in the military means your wife will cheat on you? I am a military wife and neither my husband or I have cheated. Just because all the military wives you have known are tag chasers doesn't mean there arn't good wives out there. Don't generalize about things you obviously know nothing about.

When he comes around just shoot a loud cap gun I'm sure the PTSD should kick in he'll freak out, giving you time to run or kick his ass and take his wife. LOL

And now for a lesson in FML Logic: Scenario 1a - Woman cheats on man Acceptable Responses: **** her, dump the ****, what a bitch, beat her up Scenario 1b - Man cheats on woman Acceptable Responses: She was probably ugly/a bitch, she probably wasn't putting out, why wasn't she in the kitchen making you a sammich? Scenario 2a - Woman cheats on man/soldier Acceptable Responses: Die bitch, scum of the earth, divorce the **** and leave her homeless Scenario 2b - Man cheats on woman/soldier Acceptable Responses: Well he's a guy - he needs sex, why wasn't she in the kitchen making you a sammich, threesome? Today's lesson was brought to you by the word 'Misogyny'

This is so very typical. The guy risks his life in a worthless war, & she is a ******* *****.

Tell her ok and you want to talk to him and then let him know what a piece of shit, **** of a wife he has. I agree with #75 completely... ******* *****..
