Today, my history teacher confiscated my iPhone. She dropped it on the way back to her desk, and I now have a shattered iPhone screen to fix. FML

You probably could make her pay for it. Sure you weren't supposed to be using it in class, but that deserved confiscating, not BREAKING. (Also don't they have cases and stuff that you can get so that kind of shit doesn't happen? Otter box or something?)

As a manager of a restaurant, I have unfortunately the job of being the enforcer of things like this. If we are legally able to take our employees phones, then I would think that a teacher has the same right. If an emergency presents itself, we have a house phone that we can use.

make the school pay, yes u did brake a rule but the teacher has no right to take your phone, drop it, and make you pay for repairs. make this into a real complaint about schools

Granted you shouldn't of had it out in class but once the teacher takes it, it's THEIR responsibility and most school rules say you can't have them and they're not responsible for lost or stolen cells but nothing about a teacher damaging it, I would definitely get a lawyer. People sue for the stupidest stuff these phones why not add to the list.
