ya, i saw an earlier comment saying that the ocd must not be too bad if he didnt spell panties correctly. im not sure how he acts in public, it could be worst, but he could also be putting up a show to seem nicer. also, even if she didnt have low self-esteem, that wasnt a good thing to say. he should have at least waited and stayed silent until he could think of something nicer instead of just spitting out the first thing that pops in his mind, and the fact that he didnt pause and think just confirms how big of a tool/ass he is.
