It's been countless of times that I've seen this, and people still don't learn? Where is society headed to, I ask?
Well isn't that a little bit too obvious?
All I hear in my head is Roy from The I.t. Crowd asking you if you've tried turning it off and on again :P
In my experiences as an aviation electrician, I have found that most electronics actuate when the power switch is in the closed position...in other words...turn it on.
In OP's defense... My first iPhone turned itself off one night. This is while im still learning it's capabilities etc. I tried to turn it in for over an hour... Finally, I went to a friends house, used their phone to call another friend, and was told to use the home and power buttons to reset. Ding ding.... Maybe that's similar? If not... Well please don't reproduce

And you couldn't figure this out, why?
Keep up the good work.
