uh... yeah, how do you think lawyers make money.......
I work for a lawyer and we see you kind of idiots all the time. Litigation is not cheap. You are told right off the bat how expensive it is so I have no sympathy for people like you. If you are not prepared to pay for the services that were given to you then you should be sued.
Haha, I tried to post the same comment, but it god blocked for some reason Haha. Its true though. You are told upfront how much it will cost, if not an exact figure then an approximate amount. If you couldn't afford it, that was the time to discuss it, not after the lawyer put in hours of work into your case. People like this drive me nuts. Contrary to popular Lawyer Jokes Lawyers are people too who need to eat and pay bills and every time they dont get paid on a case, that is hours of work wasted.
Thats an unfair generalization. Very few lawyers actually drive around expensive cars. In order to get to that level you have to first have been in business for several years (usually at least 15) before you start rolling in the big bucks. Your first few years you are dealing with advertisement fees which are needed to get your name out there, office rental fees, Law society membership fees. There are more fees than you can even wrap your mind around. Whats more, if they want to hire an assistant which is fairly necessary they also have to pay them. No maybe they are not starving but they are not swimming in dough. Besides that New lawyers also have to deal with a large group of people who are convinced that they don't need to pay. This puts them in an awkward situation since to sue them or get collections can ruin their reputation which is important in order to get more clients.
I'm about to graduate from law school, and right now a great deal of the people who just graduated before me are working on itty bitty salaries running around doing grunt work for partners because there aren't enough good jobs to go around. For all you know, this guy was 2 years out of law school, $100,000 in debt from loans, and still living in a tiny apartment trying to pay those loans off. Not all lawyers are sharks who make 6 figures. Most of them live on a relatively average amount of money.
YDI, nothing in life is free
the lawyer should be posting this since you are the cheap douche...

Today, the pimple-faced sandwich artist at Subway threatened not to give me my food until I paid him seven dollars, which he asked for after preparing my sandwich for me. FML.
