Like who the hell keeps their parents in their messenger and facebook & other stuff's list ??? And even more, what kind of parents have facebook and messenger accounts ? My parents don't have time for this, they either work their ass off for a living or relaxing and enjoying themselves by not staying in front of a screen all day long...
Social networking is something people have to do 'all day long'? Facebook may be convenient, but it definitely isn't interesting enough to occupy that much time. Maybe five minutes every couple days.
Even if it WAS a facebook/messenger account, most business people are now constantly plugged in via smart phones. And businesses do interact with each other and communicate with clients using social networking sites like facebook and twitter, so being constantly connected is not that big of a stretch for OP's mother.
Why couldn't op just play it off as a joke?
YDI for being dumb
OP: I'm sorry, did I say party? I meant *insert any word that could fit but that OPs mum wouldn't react badly too*. And to people wondering why OPs mum is on her contact list - that's pretty normal. I'm nearly 22 and my mum is on my phone contact because, when I'm out, it's pretty much the only way I can be contacted.
Woot! Go norway!
Rookie mistake.
You are an idiot for three reasons: 1) Throwing a party with no one home. Stuff happens at parties with no parental authority present. Plus, it's disrespectful to her, since it is her house. 2) You should have remembered you have your mom as a contact. That was just plain stupid on your part. 3) You could have saved yourself by saying it was a joke. This could be a possibility, then again I don't know if your mom has a sense of humor.

OP is definetly an amatuer at party throwing.
Just tell her it was going to be classy with some wine, cheese and Oprah's book of the month.
