Today, my siblings came home for the weekend. At dinner, my dad started complaining at how one of my siblings had gotten fired, one was failing college, and the other was gay. He went on to say I was 17 and already had a bright future. I'm pregnant. FML

Seriously, it's called adoption. There are plenty of couples who can't have kids who would be so thrilled to take one you're just going to kill anyway. I have sympathy for young girls who are scared to tell their parents... but this is one thing that can happen when you have sex... if you're not mature enough to deal with that, you shouldn't be having sex. Believe it or not, it's actually what sex is for. Crazy, right?

Actually, humans and dolphins have sex for pleasure too and not just for reproduction. Or people wouldnt be having sex unless they want kids. Also, do you actually know how many kids get adopted? Very little compared to the amount who got put up for adoption. I have lived in foster care after being sent back from my adopted family. Its ******* shit, I nearly lost my life from all the abuse. I'm just lucky that my mother came through in the end, but sadly that rarely happens. On top of that we are already over populated.

I'll get slaughtered with #5 lol Abortion is probably your best option, especially if you plan on going to college. The thing is... You have to tell your parents in order to GET the abortion... :o/ Have fun with that... I'd say your life is ****** if you were on birth control and it didn't work (hey, it DOES happen), otherwise YDI.

Your dad sounds like an ass. Getting pregnant at 17 does suck, but it doesn't mean you can't have a bright future. I'm a single mom...got pregnant at 20, which I guess isn't as bad as 17. Either way, you can still go to college, it'll be hard, but if you decide to keep it, it's not impossible. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

#65 - Depending on where she lives, I don't think she needs to tell her parents if she doesn't want to. I think that involves having a meeting with a judge to give you that right, or in some places the parents are notified within 24-72 hours afterwards.
