if they are living together and OP's name is the only one on the lease (assuming it's an apartment or a rented house), then when she changes the locks and he goes to the cops for them to maker her let him in to get his stuff, they will tell them "sorry. if you're not on the lease there's nothing we can do." that exact thing happened to someone i know. she was moving out and half-way through getting her stuff out, the roommate decided to be a dick and change the locks. cops said there was nothing they could do since her name wasnt on the lease.
