Today, on my way to work, I noticed a woman on the side of the road waving for help, her car appearing to be broken down. I pulled over, stepped out of my car, went over to her car, lifted the hood, and checked it. When I looked up to tell her what was wrong, she and my car were gone. FML

That's part of the reason it's so hard to help people anymore.

thats why cars have keys. take them with you and that cant happen!

Personally, I'd make sure the car can't be taken by taking the key and locking the doors.

Well, that'll teach you to lock your doors and take your keys out of the ignition when getting out of your car around strangers (or even around people you know). Also, if her car is broken down, get the plate number so the cops can find her name, therefore tracking down where she lives. Could be a shot in the dark if she's fleeing, but it's worth a try.

Why didn't you have your keys with you? YDI.

She also could have picked his pockets for his keys. I mean if she's really good at it she could do it without him noticing. He also could have had his keys partially sticking out like I do with mine.

That smarmy girl in those progressive commercials comes to mind.

That's why you call the police to have them deal with it

Why would you leave your keys in the ignition? I always take my keys with me when I'm not in the car.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It's good to see that there are still others whose IQ isn't lower than that of an average rock.

Hey now... don't insult the average rock! Some of them are smarter than some people I know...

best.username.ever. just had to say that

in the words of wisdom of Homer J. Simpson: "Never help anyone". (sorry about that though)

That's why I roll down the window and ask what the problem is, and if I do get out I shut and lock the door.
