Believe me, I taught sex ed for many years, and this is not at all uncommon. Many people are just too nervous to have sex the first time, not all of us are able to dive right in, so to speak. Honestly, communication is the key. Sit down with your wife, talk to her, and let her know that you respect and love her for who she is, not for what lives between her legs. Although I wouldn't leave out the fact that what she said probably hurt your feelings, and that she should have communicated her fears to you prior to this incident.
