Today, when I saw a big box that looked like a playstation, I got really excited and my parents were there and everything looked like it really was something big, so I start to open the wrapper and surprise... it was a lamp. FML

Today, after lecturing my daughter about being responsible with her money, she got a package from Amazon. What was in it? A lamp shaped like toast. She already has a lamp. FML

Today, it was my birthday. I finally got the PS3 I've been asking for, for a long time. When I opened the box, I didn't find a PS3, but a bunch of clothes that my mom put in my brother's PS3 box. FML

Today, my parents gave me my birthday present. Two weeks ago, I'd ordered an Xbox online. Three days ago, it came to my house, and my parents thought they could save money by putting wrapping paper on it, and giving it to me for my birthday. That's all they got me. FML

Today, my mom was feeling down, so I decided to buy her a gift. Knowing she likes lighthouses, I bought her a tiny one that plugs in and lights up. I brought it home, plugged it in, and when she saw me with it, she said, "Wipe that smirk off your face and get that junk out of here." FML

Today, I found a box of birthday candles sitting on the coffee table. Bored, I lit one, and after a minute I threw it away and sat back down on the couch. I started looking at the box and noticed that it said "Magic Re-Lighting Candles" at the exact moment that my trash can burst into flames. FML

Today, was my 16th birthday and I was supposed to be surprised with a new car. I have overheard my parents talking about bringing it home tonight while I was at a friend's house. We snuck back to my house to see them bring my car home. All I saw was my Dad crash my new car into a street lamp. FML

that must have been just DEVASTATING. poor little boy didn't get everything he wanted :'( I'm crying for you, I really am. You must feel like you want to DIE. never tell anyone you hope they die. I know where OP's coming from. I've waited to get a playstation since it came out. Every Christmas and birthday since then, I've asked for one. Last year my parents promised to get one for my brother and I. A lamp doesn't really seem like a present. Have you ever heard of lights in the ceiling? You know, the ones you hang from a wall and actually *gasp* FLIP A SWITCH TO USE?

wow, people are pretty harsh on the comments page, aren't they? Ya know what's even better than a ps3 OR a lamp? A playstation that produces 100 watt bulb light.
