Sorry, but the kids right. Fast food jobs are really meant for teenagers. You're not supposed to work there when you get older (unless you perhaps own one) but sometimes you still end up there for whatever reason. But it actually sounds more like the kid, being a kid, has a skewed idea of who is "older" and would probably consider a 15 year old to be "older", so what the kid says doesn't really matter.
