Today, while at work at Wendy's, a lady came through the drive-thru with her kid. As I was handing them their order, her child points to me and exclaims "mommy, I thought you weren't supposed to work at places like this when you get older". FML

I posted this comment yesterday as frosty. I just thought I'd clear up a few things for the repliers. Yes, I agree the job is lame. I'm a co-manager, though, and it pays well for what it is. I made 38000 dollars last year I'm only 22. I've worked there since I was 15. Way too long. I am a college student. I attend the Savannah College of Art and Design, which is quite a prestigious art school. I'm an animation/sound design major (Dual major). My current GPA is a 3.55 I have a full scholarship since my high school academics were pretty good. I posted this because even I thought it was hilarious.

Do we even know if this person is a teenager? Shit, people quit jumping to conclusions. Maybe they're 17 or 18 and the child saw them as a "grown-up", and it's fine if the OP works at Wendy's. People need to worry about their own life's and quit criticizing other's.

I agree with the kid! Although I guess we do rely on people who do not have enough motivation to educate themselves to keep wendy's up and running!

Wooaah.. If the mother didn't say anything to that, she is a horrible mother. There was a similar case I heard of where this lady was cleaning up at the arena, she was sweeping and this kid was like "Mommy, shes doing that job because shes not very smart." And the girl doing the job was really, really upset about it. The parents didn't say anything. Normally you would tell you kid not to talk like that and make them apologize? But no. Bad parents. Kids can say some pretty hurtful things. It seems stupid to be upset by something a kid says, but at the same time, they don't monitor what they say, they don't know to.

The kid has the right idea.

Well, you know... If it's a little kid, twelve might be old to them. So you never really know. But 23/24 is the limit for me. Although I don't plan on working at a fast food restaurant anyway...

Well, kids say stupid things like that all the time. I would say that the people working at fast food restaurants are half teenagers and half "older people" anyway.

Congratulations OP! It sounds like you're doing well, despite what that kid thinks. And you made about 33% more than I do, with my job that requires a four year degree. That kid should hope to do so well!

Congrats OP. I guess the mom meant really older, you're still young.

Wow you make more than my mom, a 43 year old nurse/manager at a very renown podiatrist (he's the Vice President of the podiatrist Union thingy for the whole United States; people literally have come from Alaska just to see him)

The way you wrote it totally made it seem like you were like 40. Lol.

There's nothing wrong with any job as long as you work hard and do your best. I can't stand it when someone looks own on soemone else because they work as a janitor or fast food. I hope you remember their face so next time you can spit in their food.

At least the kid didn't point out your obesity and unbearable acne, because I'm sure you have those too.
