Today, while I was on a field trip with my son, my husband decided to get rid of our dog without asking anyone. Now I get to pick up the pieces of a broken heart, and he thinks he did nothing wrong. FML

Yep, mine too! An ex-boyfriend of mine told me I had to get rid of our cat. So I packed the car up, along with all my stuff, and left.

#100 I wouldn't say it was selfish of her to leave. He couldn't live with the cat and she couldn't live without it; now that she has left, she gets to keep her cat and he doesn't have to see it again.

i disagree. demanding someone give up a beloved member of their family is far more selfish than choosing to keep your cat over a douchebag boyfriend.

#100 My pets are family members for life. If someone I'm dating demands me get rid of my pet, I'd be getting out of the relationship. What's more selfish - leaving the douche and keeping your pet, or dumping your family member in the shelter for said douche, who could leave you anyway and then you're screwed? Sorry, but I don't get pets to then just give them up and nobody should really do that.
