Today, while working as a barista, a customer yelled about her muffins and butter not being ready since she only had a "short time to eat". There were 7 tip giving customers ahead of her, but I rushed her order. She gave no tip and stayed for over an hour. FML

It's sad how rude some people can be even when you try and do something nice for them.

Keep a couple of laxatives in your pocket for the next time she returns :) Also if there is a bathroom at your workplace, perhaps you should forget to replace the toilet paper roll after you've served her... Just a thought.

That would be a asshole thing to do to everyone there tho...

Surely she's going to run out and it can easily be replaced so no other customers are inconvenienced... It's only being an ass to her ass.

And who do you think will end up having to clean up after that type of mess?

I usually am one of the seven who are patient and don't really care, but when I see my server is given a hard time by some self-entitled asspixie I make sure to try and make the server's day better. Sorry OP, but at least you had a majority of good customers.

I've been working in a customer service position for almost two years now... At this point in time, you have got to be a seriously incompetent twat for me to get mad at you if you're serving me. Like, Indian tech support incompetent. I can sit and wait for 20 minutes and I'll be patient through it all. ... Because I know what it's like to be on the other side. It sucks.

I'm in the service industry myself If I go somewhere and witness someone else getting abused by a nasty customer, I often speak up on their behalf because I know they can't say anything without getting in trouble. But since-- I don't work there, it's "no holds barred!"

Shoulda made her wait. Been there done that OP. Take extra time on her stuff. Most that'll happen is you get bitched out.

That customer wasn't Derpy per chance, was it?

#25 "Don't say it", my instincts told me. "It's going to get buried in negative votes; don't do it." Well, at least I tried, and it didn't hurt to try!

You learned a valuable lesson: some customers are selfish scumbags who lie to get what they want. F the nice, honest customers lives too.

Customer service sucks, I've had people blaming me for the system failing. Even a few that threatened to hurt met. Once had someone who asked if they could skip the line because their mother was in poor health in august in Long Island during back to school at staples when the lines wrapped around the store. You meet all kinds course I also had a cougar (while I was tossing a stress ball) asked how often I play with my balls and if she could play with them. You get all kinds.

"The customer is always right." Except when they're, you know, completely and totally wrong.

I'm not a native English speaker, so my grasp of the language could be less than ideal, but that kind of sounds like the customer was working as a barista.

Your grasp on English is just fine, you are absolutely correct. But I think we tend to let misplaced modifiers like that slide here since FML has required structure for posts (though she could have said "while *I* was working as a barista").
