I'm sorry about your parents. You shouldn't have had to gone thru that for welfare. It is so sad to hear that honest people who legitimately need help are being pushed aside for those who make dumb decisions, are not trying to improve their lives, and instead take advantage of the system. I hope things get better for you and your family soon!!

I can see the problem with the crab legs and lobster. However, steak and fruits and vegetables? Those are not outlandish foods for people to be buying. Even if they are organic. They are foods that are good for their families. At least they're not spent g it all on candy, chips, and soda. Also, if you are in such bad shape that you are looking for pennies maybe you should swallow your pride and take yourself down to the welfare office and apply for foodstamps yourself. It sounds like you really do need them. There is nothing wrong with getting something that not only do you need and are eligible for, but that you pay for.

Its not easy getting welfare. they take into account the whole house hold income. so me and my mom both work, i work two jobs part time, she works one full time. I got denied three times already. I "make too much money" I only wanted health insurance to make school cheaper my mom feeds me and I help her with food. After all the real important stuff is taken care of (rent, tuition, bills, food) I might have $15 to the next check. Yes vegetables are important but organic? You shouldn't take someones else's money and get the really expensive stuff. That would be like taking someone's credit card and getting a crazy amount of things you don't need. Yes they deserve fruits and veggies but to buy the stuff that's usually $1.00 more per pound when people can't even afford canned stuff isn't right. Then again it is their assistance.
