call PETA!!
PETA euthanizes more animals in it's kennels then it saves and keeps alive every year. Learn about an organization before you champion it, go back to your hippie colony.
I'm not trying to be coldhearted, but that's the reality of kennels. You are a little naive.
that's a horrific thing to do why dont they cremate them instead of throwing them into a dump truck. people should adopt animals from shelters instead of buying from puppy farmers. i really feel for you man.
It's not the shelter's fault. No one adopts, everyone breeds or has an "accident" with their unaltered dogs. The fact that dogs are euthanized is the sad outcome of this. The disposal methods, while horrendous to deal with (and I'm shocked by this post, because laypeople are usually never allowed to handle the dead due to health risks involved), are designed to be as inexpensive as possible. Every penny saved by sending a body to the landfill instead of buying cremation equipment can go back into caring for the dogs that they CAN save. I have dogs and dogs will always be a big part of my life. I need and work with specialized dogs that must be purchased from RESPONSIBLE breeders, but I do my part with donations, education, and frequent volunteering doing everything from walking dogs, checking for ringworm, and doing the dishes. If everyone who loved dogs volunteered just once a week, especially in high kill areas, perhaps we would be able to reach a time where public shelters are no longer necessary.
oh no!! :(
no dogs ever get sent to landfill...it's not a matter of cost you can send whole groups of dogs (and cats) to be cremated at once which is a lot cheaper, no pets are buried unless the owner wants that and takes their pet home...
