Today, while shopping, I saw a little girl and her mom. The girl was pouting so I tried to cheer her up by asking her if she was a princess, because she was so pretty. She smiled but her mom looked at me with disgust and told me to, "Get lost, pedo." I'm a 17-year-old girl. FML

I like kids they're tons of fun. But I'm very careful with talking to, or even waving to them in public. Because I know I'm not a pedo, however, if I had and daughter and she was approached by a 6'4" male in his late 20s I'd be pretty suspicious of it.

Uh, most of them, actually. A child is most likely to be abused by someone they know. In many cases, it's a close friend of the family. The pedophile gains the family's trust, and begins grooming the child right under their noses. Obviously not even close to OP's situation though.
