A new friend

By puzzled - This FML is from back in 2010 but it's good stuff - United Kingdom

Today, I was brushing my teeth when I felt a lump of something in the corner of my mouth. Naturally assuming it would be a bit of food that my toothbrush had dislodged, I spat it out into the sink. It was a woodlouse. FML

In all honesty, I prefer Jeremy Wade and he isn't even extremist in his ways. Just lookin' for some fish. :3

I'm still not sure what a woodlouse is

No it isn't, that's a myth. The majority of spiders don't like damp habitats (like your mouth) and will not voluntarily crawl inside. It's just one of those things 'everyone knows' but aren't actually true. I forget what the proper word is. :) Flies on the other hand...

totes_sucks, I have woken up with a spider in my mouth before. They may not often crawl into your mouth, but they do on occasion.

a woodlouse is one of them roley poleys

That only refers to certain families of woodlice, such as armadillidiidae, that can roll up into a ball. There are other kinds of woodlice.

Goes by names such as rollie pollie, pill bug, potato bug, woodlice, armadillo bug, cheesy bug, doodle bug, wood bug, roll-up bug, slater bug, carpenter bug. There's a wide variety of them. All refer to the same bug or group of bugs. Small, oval-shaped, curls up into a ball to protect itself, lots of legs. has an exoskeleton similar to armor plating. Common bug in the North America and Europe, not sure where else.
