As someone who is in college and has taken several classes on STIs, the ignorance on here amazes me. I was amazed at the stats shown in those classes, but if most people around the US have the same opinion as I'm seeing here, it's not surprising. Condoms don't prevent STIs. They reduce the risk. You can still get an infection 'cause most don't require penetrative sex (like HPV, herpes, gonorrhea, and chlamydia). Genital contact or oral sex is more than enough. Also, men aren't symptomatic in quite a few of these STIs, so it's not surprising that op didn't know he had one. Fyl, op, and I hope it's something that can be treated. Kudos to the gf for being smart!

That's terrible, I'm sorry. At least you got tested! For those saying to wrap it up, you can still get HPV if you don't. Skin to skin contact, which can lead to the type where you get genital warts. Even better, a lot of people don't show signs when they have it.
