Today, I swam in a race against all of the girls in the midwest in the hardest, longest, most grueling race you can swim. I won. Happy but so tired I could barely move, I looked up to see my time. I had been disqualified. For flinching. Before the race started. FML

How is that grounds for disqualification? And shouldn't they have told you before the race started that you were disqualified?

this actually is an fml. i'm sorry, that really sucks. don't let it weigh you down though, it'll only make you feel bad in the long run. :/

Man, that's really a bummer.

Hate to break this wonderfull story.... but the MIDWEST sectionals was on march 6th... MIDWEST Sectionals= top 4% of swimmers in the midwest i was there and nobody DQ'd in the 1650, 500, or any of the final races in finals night. not to disgrace or anything. and i hate when that happens! i dont understand how officals think that a flich will somehow give you an advantage in a race

ok guys- yes she made a mistake...that does suck..and the thing that pisses me off is that everyone is saying it's her fault... yes it was..and im sure she knew that..she doesn't need to be reminded of it...the thing that is an fml is that they didn't tell her she was disqualified...sso she just did an insanely long race against a large amount of people...and won..only to find out she had no chance of winning anyway yeah okay... i'm extremely sorry that happened...)= welll like a lot of other people said..you truely won fair and square...and even though you don't have a stupid medal to prove it...everyone knows u were the winner

Yeah I did that at finals for 2 IM. Won Gold and would've been my Olypmic qualifying time, except I 'false started'. Talked to my coach after and he said he didn't see anything. Stupid officials. It's always about politics. I'm not black, and they wanted someone more 'patriotic' looking to rep their country I guess. So yeah, I know how you're feeling. #71 if it was 4 IM, that is a pretty intense race. anyone who says it's not has CLEARLY never swam it... or trained for it!

So, technically, you can't say you won. You fail, dumbass.
