Door knocking

By firewait - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - Canada

Today, I gave my 16 year-old step-daughter and her friends a lecture on respecting other people's privacy. Two hours later, I accidentally walked into her room without knocking. She and her friends were giving each other bikini waxes. Now her friends call me "the hypocritical pervert." FML

i'd be more concerned that her and her friends give each other bikini waxes

Well the pervert thing is unjustified, but seriously, you can't tell her off for not respecting other people's privacy and then just walk into her room without knocking. Just apologise to her and let it serve as a reminder for next time to think before you go in there. She's a 16 year old girl, be glad she wasn't doing anything worse when you walked in!

#155 How is that nasty? Not waxing would be nasty.

Well i give MY SELF bikini waxes and im 14... its not for guys.. its just i do it in the summer for when i wear bathingsuits. But i would never tell my friend do it to me. thats just weird.

Who the **** has a bikini waxing party

When I was 16, my mom used to just wrench my door open immediately after one brief tap. I hated that, so I locked my door. Then she yelled at me about how I shouldn't lock it, and would wring harshly at the doorknob until I opened it (which I always did as fast as possible). I feel anger for your step daughter. If she's steaming mad at you (I wouldn't be surprised), offer or suggest for her to lock her door if she's doing something private. YDI because you didn't respect your own word.

YDI for the hypocrisy AND for not knocking. People deserve their privacy as long as they're not putting themselves in danger. And for all the people making derogatory comments and putting down the actions of the step-daughter and her friends, please grow up and try to see it from a logical point of view. Bikini waxing hurts like a bitch, and sometimes it's hard to pull hard enough to get the hair off when you're so afraid of how it's going to feel. It must be easier to have someone else do it. Why do you think people get PAID to do that?! Also, it's not as if the girls had to be naked to wax their bikini lines. They could have been wearing bathing suits (which is probably the reason they were doing it in the first place, it's gross when you see girls whose bush is coming out the sides of their bikini bottoms) or just underwear. I don't see anything wrong with this. They're friends, they trust each other, and it's not as if there's anything they haven't seen before. I've seen all my friends naked (in completely NON-sexual contexts, before anyone says anything), and it's not a big deal.

FYL. Their fault, not yours. If something is that private ( and this was) the door SHOULD have been locked

ok. it's her fault for being stupid. If I were gonna do something like that I would know better then to do it with my friends, in my room, with the door unlocked, when someone is home and might walk in. I mean, really. who would expect someone to be doing something like that when they have company.
