Today, I proposed to my girlfriend, whom I'm madly in love with, by having a plane fly over her house spelling "Marry me Abby?" After seeing it, she locked herself in her room and cried for hours, exclaiming that this wasn't how she wanted to be proposed to. I'd invited my entire family. FML

Today, I went through with my elaborate plans to propose to my girlfriend with creativity. I took her skydiving and proposed in midair. She rejected it. Why? She wanted a more "traditional" proposal. FML

Today, I was walking with my girlfriend of a year and a half on the beach. Everything was fine until she saw a plane with a banner behind it saying "Cassie, will you marry me?" She said yes. I didn't order a plane. FML

Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend of 3 years. I got reservations for a romantic dinner, and at the end, fireworks would spell out my proposal. The whole thing had taken weeks to plan out and had cost me a lot of money. She proposed to me at a subway station first. FML

Today, I proposed to my girlfriend from the top of a bungee jumping platform at an amusement park. I yelled out, "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" from the platform, pointing her out. Turns out, I was pointing at the wrong girl. My girlfriend was very angry and ran away when the wrong girl yelled, "Yes!" FML

Today, I proposed to my girlfriend but she refused. Why? Because instead of asking her, “Will you marry me?” I asked her to “be my wife.” She flew off the handle because “my wife” suggests she would be mine, like ownership, like domestic slavery. I don’t want to marry her anymore; she’s nuts. FML

Today, I invited my girlfriend over to a family lunch, planning to propose to her at just the right moment. My family was in on it, including my apparently disapproving mom, who kept causing a scene to grab my girlfriend's attention every time I went to pull out the ring. FML

she should have been thankful, because that's incredibly sweet. i don't understand the obsession with proposals as long as you're genuinely in love and propose in a way that shows you care.

I've only known one other person who had a fiance who bitched about the WAY her boyfriend proposed. She turned out to be insane, and they ended up splitting up. If she's seriously going to cry because you didn't propose how she wanted you to, it's time to break up.

dude, you should get out now while you still can. seems like she's just in love with the idea of getting married. i mean if 2 people truly loved each other she wouldn't care too much about how you proposed. besides what you did was a pretty sweet. she should have been more appreciative. **** that kunt

I would never want my boyfriend's entire family there. Wtf? That's our moment not theirs. As far as the airplane thing goes...I mean...it is pretty dorky...hardly romantic...but I don't think I'd cry about it. Be a bit disappointed and laugh it off. But not freak out.

@9... uh... really? I would be really embarrassed probably too if I were her, but really? A ******* PLANE IN THE SKY... JUST SPELLED OUT YOUR NAME! I would feel almost obligated to accept lol. I mean, ******* writing in the sky? Damn. I only know 2 girls I'd spend that much money on, one hates me and the other is 14 and her father wants to kill me. Couldn't afford it lately anyways T_T.
