I'd dump her if I was you.
Your girlfriend is selfish.
She obviously doesn't deserve you or anyone if she acted that way, because she's living in a fantasy land where everyone obviously knows what she wants. That is unless she made it obvious as to how she wanted to be proposed in the first place and you went against it... Even then though, its like the little girl from Babe where she got the wrong doll house for Christmas. One question though, was her family invited too? Or only yours?
that bitch! you should do something really hurtful AFTER you un-propose to that girl =/
Hahahahahahaha
I would be devastated if I were in your shoes... No matter the manner in which the proposal is delivered, it is that you are asking her to spend the rest of your lives together that makes the moment magical. There seem to be some deeply rooted issues here with this particular girl... I’m sorry that this happened.
That is the worst, most embarrassing, tacky way to ask someone to marry you. I'm a girl, and that's the equivalent of spelling it on the jumbo-tron at a football game. If my bf proposed to me like that, with his entire family watching, I'd cry for 4 hours too. NOT because it "was the wrong way", but because he obviously didn't know me well enough to ask me in a private romantic meaningful way, with just us.

she should have been thankful, because that's incredibly sweet. i don't understand the obsession with proposals as long as you're genuinely in love and propose in a way that shows you care.
I've only known one other person who had a fiance who bitched about the WAY her boyfriend proposed. She turned out to be insane, and they ended up splitting up. If she's seriously going to cry because you didn't propose how she wanted you to, it's time to break up.
