Fake news

Today, I went to a coffee shop to meet an online date. I couldn't spot him, so he eventually came up and introduced himself. It seems his on-line picture must have been taken before I was born. I spluttered "This isn't going to work," and promptly scuttled out. FML

You could have least gotten an actual free coffee out of him, instead of stealing your coworker's.

And I'm from New Jersey, we can be agressive too. NY sucks and is over populated anyway.

Actually, once you get away from North Jersey, it's pretty nice.

Haha, I love how a New Jerseyer is saying that New York is overpopulated. Do you even KNOW where you live? Only in one of the post overpopulated states in the country!

Don't confuse New York city with the entire state. Once you get north of NYC, there are a lot of rural areas with farms and rolling hills. With New Jersey, once you get out of North Jersey, it's also got lots of farms and stuff. Be more familiar with the state before you comment.

WOW - So a guy begins a relationship by LYING and there are already several women here defending him? "Give him a chance?" "He might not be that bad?" Why are so many WOMEN defending this jerk? Here's a tip, ladies: A guy who STARTS OUT lying to you is not going to be good boyfriend material! Good God, this is how assholes become successful in this world. Stop giving them the benefit of the doubt and they'll go away.

I agree. Cut your lose and get exactly want you're looking for with out settling for less. Damn, the dating world seems so scary now a days.

*applauds 52* my thoughts exactly!

This from a guy with his REAL pix displayed!!! lol

We ARE hearing one side of the story, remember.

if he posted the wrong pic trying to be slick then he deserved it!

Should have taken him for dinner, drinks and his credit cards first THEN told him it wasn't going to work. Maybe then he'll stop chasing kids.

Lmao! Mpoppe, sorry I don't have a reply button, but I live near the beautiful Pine Barrens. I don't know what you're talking about, but the times I've been to NY, it smelled aweful and I pity anyone who is immune to that smell and doesn't realize how bad it is...

Spluttered? Scuttled? Are you writing an FML or a goddamn children's book? While the "Are You There God, It's Me, Margaret" crowd might be looking for your cartoonishly written episode of "The Older Man I'm In an Online Relationship With" the FML crowd here could have done with just a simple "said" and "walked". Having said that, you deserve it for online dating. Get off your ass and out of your house where what you see is what you get.

Someone once told me that the one who is the most judgemental is the one that have made or will make the most mistakes...

hahaha 66...that made me actually laugh out loud

I thought adding that whole last line ruined the FML a little. Shoulda** ended on the bad note, not her leaving. **Spelt this way on purpose, my dear overly bored nazis.

You're welcome gusgus36. I see they stoned you also for siding with someone who might even suggest pulling away from the computer screen and seeing some sunlight *gasp*. If you're shy you're never gonna get over it by hiding behind your computer screen. Sometimes life means making a few mistakes... get out and live it. It'll make you a better person... or at least give you some good stories to tell.

umm OP, you liked his personality enough to actually meet him in real life, didn't you? Sure it's bad that he lied about his age. Nobody's perfect. However, you have to keep in mind that age is strictly a state of mind. You liked the guy, so what if he was a few years older than you'd expected? IMO you should take to him&settle this out.

The truth is that age doesn't matter,in fact the love of my life was 15 years older than me.But it's not just her fault. If he was really ok with his age then why didn't he showed her who he really is instead of pretending to be someone he is not?Are u saying that he wasn't ok with his own self but SHE should be?

I would say give him a chance I'd he hasn't lied.
