Today, I spent an hour deleting 70 of my status posts from the past week so I don't look so addicted to Facebook. Damn, I need a life. FML

You post (on average) 10 status updates a day? At that rate, you don't have to worry about people seeing that you don't have a social life, because everybody has already taken notice of that and hidden you from their news feed.

Precisely. Not only is OP the reason the 'hide' function was invented, they're obviously pretty inept at the whole 'computer' thingy. How long would it take a competent person to delete 70 posts, like five minutes max? OP - YDI not because you have no life, but because you have no skills.
