Give me strength

Today, my girlfriend's friend told her she had seen me shopping with a cute girl. When I came back home, my girlfriend punched me in the face and asked who the girl was. Apparently her friend didn't tell her the "cute girl" was my three year-old niece. I lost a tooth from the punch. FML

dude, you should've chris brown'ed her ass

I'm simultaneously impressed at how well your GF can apparently hit, and horrified that she hit you. That's messed up. I honestly disagree with #135. The thought seems right, but if it were me it would be an ultimatum. You hit your partner, they cease to be your partner, IMO. (Exception: I think anyone has the right to defend themselves; and play-wrestling isn't really hitting to me) I do recommend saying something to the friend, as well, to let them know how messed up it was for her to misrepresent things. Though, even if it were a cute girl your age your GF overreacted. There is such a thing as female friends.

At a minimum, you need to talk to you GF. Violence is never acceptable. I did say "talk", not "shout". And don't make it an ultimatum. Just explain calmly that hitting is just not acceptable, just as she wouldn't accept it if you punched her in the face. You also need to talk to her friend and point out that her little "joke" wasn't funny, neither to your GF nor to you. If neither of seem to be interested in what you say, then time to walk. Both need to grow up a bit before they can be relied upon. #5 said it best :o)

FML has branded OP's girlfriend a dumb bitch. It is so.

Either your girl is a psycho or you're leaving out the part about why she's so suspicious of you.

Wow extreme reaction much? Even if the OP had been with a girl his own age, and even if it was a friend, what kind of clingy, obsessive girlfriend punches a guy out for that? ... unless she had previous reason to expect he was cheating, but even then ask questions first, throw punches later, or you know just don't be violent at all, that's always good.
