Heavy sleeper

Today, I returned from a long business trip a day early to surprise my wife. She was sleeping, so I climbed into bed and started spooning her. Thinking I was an intruder, she simultaneously kicked me in the groin, elbowed me in the ribs, and smacked the back of her head into my jaw. FML

As hard as it may be to believe, some people don't like surprises and don't understand immediately when awoken in a situation they don't expect. At least she has shown she knows how to defend herself against a rapist. YDI, and should be glad a) she doesn't use a gun for self-defense, and b) you didn't find her in bed with some other guy.

How does he deserve it? Surprises can be romantic. Situations like this are why you put a mirror over the headboard and speak before you smash. Kudos to you for trying OP. Your wife is just too boss for all that old school sex.

Seeing as he specified that his wife would be surprised at him coming home early, he deserves it for not thinking his actions through. She wakes up to find someone spooning her, of course her first thought wouldn't be that it was her husband.

Wow, that didn't end the way I thought it would. I thought OP was going to talk about how there was someone else in the bed or something. OP may be a little sore, but at least she can hold down the fort :)
