I do this all the time, I don't see what's so bad about it
I've done it with shirts before and it works great and takes way less time!!!
At least she's got some brains to make use of
not really FML worthy... I've ironed things with a flat iron. They get way hotter and you don't have to deal with taking it out... or water... so chill...
Teach her the trick where you sprinkle the pants/clothes with a little bit of water and put them in the dryer for a few minutes. (:
I do that. But mainly 'cause my room is a sunroom/porch, just with more insulation than a porch, but still gets really cold. So in the winter (I live in Wisconsin) I warm up my pants with my hair straightener, and I want to warm them up before putti g them on my legs.
I feel for you. My room has no heat and in the winter If I have time I throw my pants in the dryer. If not the agony of putting on what I call "ice pants" can not be imagined by those who have not done it.
I can't say for trousers, but i can fully vouch for this working on shirts, tops and skirts. I'm a student. We have a small iron, but every flat we move into the ironing board looks like something died on it - so my flatmate irons her work clothes with her straighteners and no one has ever complained...
Well did it work? Saves getting out an ironing board!

Rather clever idea actually.
I do that all the time, it's great for shirt collars and around buttons!
