JESUS CHRIST!

Today, I was helping my church clean up a park. I was given a sledgehammer and told to break up a concrete picnic table so we could haul it off. About halfway through, I swung the sledgehammer REALLY hard, completely missed the table, and hit myself in the shin. FML

So, how long is the cast on for?

im having sympathy (spell check that) pains for you. ouch. sounds like something I would do if I had the muscle to work with a huge hammer like that. shit happens but not an idiot. just an accident.

Proper grip and positioning is essential to using a sledgehammer. If you aren't qualified to use a tool, DON'T. Please consider that for next time.

Who the **** was in charge here? They seriously thought it would be a good idea to give a skinny bitch with the common sense of an ant a sledgehammer to break up a lump of concrete? And they say not all Christians are retarded...

That's a definite FYL...but how in the hell did you miss the table? O.o

#188 -- they had to have, otherwise it would not have been a very hard hit with a sledge hammer.

Alright everyone! Stop saying "God must hate you," and "YDI for helping your church." If this wasn't for church it still could have happened! And then no one would be dissing and being disrespectful to the OP's beliefs and God. This FML only mentions church once, focus on the second sentence until the end--pretty simple guys.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OUCHHHHHHHHHHH WATCH WHAT YOURE DOING!

SO FAKE! A sledgehammer to any part of the leg would break it and yet there is no mention of it in the op. Also swinging it hard, as you say, likely would require surgery to reset. Coordination fail.
