Since when is there a law saying that you can't ride a bike on a sidewalk? WTF. Where else are you gonna ride a bike?
My town doesn't have bike lanes. Your stupid law would get a lot of people hurt.
ROFL you pwnt that kid
#32, I don't trust bike lanes. I've seen cars use the bike lane to get around other cars, as a third lane, or use it as a turn lane at a traffic stop. The last time I used one, some jackass in a hummer honked his horn from behind me and I fell from being startled. I'm very lucky he went around me instead of running me over.
Last bit... #19: What's a bike lane? They make those? :-P #41&42: The road.
I laughed really, really loud but then felt bad... For some odd reason this gave me a raging clue.
since when do they let down syndrome kids on their own?
The law is the law, the OP was only doing his/her job. Even if the OP had known the kid had Down Syndrome, he still should have done his job by informing the kid that he was not allowed to ride his bike on the sidewalk. Having a mental disability, or any disability for that matter, does not mean you are exempt from following the law. You are still required to follow the law to the best of your ability.

wow, that really sucks. its not your fault at all, how were you to know that the kid had down syndrome? You were just doing your job. Don't worry about it man
You shouldn't feel bad about enforcing the law, and you should definitely tell your boss what happened.
