Today, after two months of unemployment, I got a call from a marketing firm offering me an interview for an entry-level position. While Googling the company, I discovered it's a scam. I graduated college in 3 years with a 3.5 GPA, and the only interview I can get is at a fake company. FML

Today, a day after I applied for a promising job in a nearby city, I got an e-mail saying they'd like to set up an interview. I was hopeful, right up until the call I got was flagged as "ILLEGAL SCAM" by caller ID and the interviewer, who stated she represented that very company, was plainly calling from India. FML

Today, I got a call from an ad agency offering me a job. I was so excited, because I've been looking for work for a few months now and really wanted to work for them. An hour later, they called apologizing, because they'd made a mistake and offered the job to the wrong person. FML

Today, I had my first job interview since graduating from university. The person who interviewed me informed me that not using my degree after two years practically makes it null and void. I guess instead of being a financial advisor at the company, I could always be a janitor there. FML

Today, in this horrible job market, I finally got an interview with a dream company. But like the dumbass I am, I mentioned my baby in the interview and got the "look" from the interviewer. Bye bye yet another job. FML

Today, after having tried for months to get a promotion at work, I finally had an interview for a higher position. Everything went great, and I was told I would get a call next week for my second interview. I went back to my desk, only to get an email stating they're canceling the position. FML

Today, I was emailed an update on the jobs I applied for. Every single one of the positions have closed except for one that I'm having second thoughts about, because looking around Google showed them to be VERY sketchy. FML

Today, after being unemployed for over four months, I got a call from a company I've wanted to work for for over 2 years. After they were about to set up an interview, they called me by a different name. After correcting them, they hung up on me. Turns out they had the wrong number. FML

Today, I accidentally put down the wrong year for my university graduation, so when my prospective boss was checking my references he found no mention of my name in that year's list of graduates. He accused me of faking my qualifications and refused to hire me. It was a 6-figure salary. FML

#34, How do you figure where you went to college doesn't matter? Some colleges are objectively than others harder to get into and do well, and prepare you better for getting a good job. From which college would you rather have a degree, MIT or University of Phoenix?

ok so basically a 3.5 would be a total embarrassment right now i have a 4.0 in all honors and AP classes and I know that I cannot let it slip because it would kill my chances at a good future. Oh, and for the record I don't go to one of those slacker schools that gives you an GPA boost for honors and AP classes, we actually have to work for a high GPA. So YDI for not caring about your future enough to get good grades

same thing happened to me last week after months of searching i finally got a promising call for an interview turns out its "vector marketing" (basically cut-co knives)... it was so depressing i know how u feel.
