If you get some one fired for calling you an idiot you are a ******* asshole." That's one of the most ridiculous things I've read in a while. It doesn't matter how annoying a customer is you gotta just do your job. In his case it was repeating simple instructions. Someone that is unprofessional enough to tell a customer "You're a ******* idiot" totally deserves to get fired. Especially when so many people just want a job. To the OP, Call back and get this douchebag fired. He doesn't deserve to have a job!
